About the Event

We are nearly there. The Melor Hall has gone and the archaeological evaluation of the site has been completed. Wiltshire Council has appointed one of its officers as project manager, providing much needed and much appreciated expert advice and saving us many thousands of pounds.  By the time of the dinner the Council confidently expects to have a appointed the contractor for the construction.

However, while the building will be delivered, its operation, including fitting out and creation of the displays, will be the responsibility of the The Amesbury History Centre CIO.

The History Centre Trustees will need a lot of money, and the Mayor and Mayoress will assist in raising that money in any way they can.

On Friday 15th November we are holding another Fund Raising Dinner

at which Mr Jeremy Clutterbuck, Project Officer for Cotswold Archaeology,

will give a presentation on the recent archaeological evaluation of the Melor Hall site.

Please note that the results of this dig are currently being written up and have not been submitted to the Town Council nor to the planning authority..

We hope that you will be able to join us. The cost per person will be £30.00.

After an excellent meal, there will, of course, be opportunities to contribute to fund raising activities!

Returns by Sunday 10th November to
