About the Event
Hear English Heritage volunteer, Ian Beveridge talk about the history of Ludgershall Castle and Cross and give an insight into the artifacts found during archaeological excavations between 1964 to 1972, which until now have been kept in storage. Ian is absolutely passionate about this subject and is delighted to have the opportunity to tell you about the castle which dates back to just before the 1100s and its relationship to the Kings of England through the 12th to 14th Centuries.
There will be an Open Day held in Ludgershall Memorial Hall on Saturday 21 March 2026, 11am - 3pm to view these artifacts for the first time.
You could also take the time to wander through the town to view what's left of the Cross and the Castle.
The Open Day is being run by the University of West England (UWE) and English Heritage and is free to the public.
